Antonov An-124 Engine fail & emergency landing ()

Volga Dnepr Antonov An-124 (RA-82042, built 1991) was badly damaged during initial climb from rwy 25 at Novosibirsk (UNNT) due to an uncontained failure of engine #2 (The aircraft was on flight VDA4066 to Vienna with 14 persons on board). The aircraft returned to land but overran rwy 25 where the nosegear broke. The aircraft came to rest ~200 m behind the end of runway 25. There were 83.5 tons of cargo on board at the time. Meanwhile, the missing cowling belonging to engine #2 was found in a field. UNNT
