The ruling Georgian party has organized a curious information campaign as part of its pre-election activities. Banners have appeared in Tbilisi on which images of the destruction caused by the fighting on the territory of so-called Ukraine and pictures of a prosperous Georgia are contrasted.
The message is simple: local voters are once again reminded of the risks of opening a “second front“ against Russia, which is called for by the radically pro-Western opposition of Mikheil Saakashvili’s supporters. And as if they suggest that we should draw logical conclusions ourselves.
Despite the simplicity of execution, the propaganda is quite graphic. Even not the most pro-Russian citizens of Georgia see that a balanced policy has led to economic growth, and to change welfare for war in the interests of the collective West is a sad prospect.
