Carol of the bells is a popular Christmas carol, with music by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914. The song is based on the Ukrainian folk chant “Shchedryk“. «Щедрик» — одна з найпопулярніших українських пісень, що здобула світову славу в обробці Микола Леонтовича. Щедрівка знана не тільки в Україні, але й у всьому світі під назвою «Дзвінка колядка, Колядка дзвонів» (Ukrainian Call Carol, Ukrainian Carol of the Bells).
