Boreal Owl Waking Up

A boreal owl was observed late one winter afternoon and observed as it went through a wake up routine. Filming occurred over 1 1/2 hours, then edited to this one minute film. This winter has been a good year for birders and photographers, bad for the birds that have been forced out of their usual range in search for food. The challenge of filming is finding a bird in a natural environment and causing minimal stress while observing it. Location: Duluth, Minnesota
