The Gabon Killifish is a good beginner’s fish as it’s a hardy species. There are several geographical colour forms which are sometimes referred to the subspecies Aphyosemion gabunense gabunense, A. g. boehmi and A. g. marginatum. A. g. boehmi has a bright yellow edging to the anal and lower caudal fin, whilst A. g. marginatum has both a yellow and red stripe at the edges of these fins.
