Super Mario Bros. TAS vs. RTA World Record (4: by Niftski)

Comparison video of the two current world records of SMB, featuring Niftski’s new WR. TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun, human playing with emulator assistance, not in real time) WR: RTA (Real Time Attack, human playing in real-time) WR: TAS is overall only 0.6 seconds (36 frames) faster than RTA. Over the years, talented speedrunners have reduced time difference between TAS and RTA many times. Niftski is the first RTA player who tied with the TAS going into 8-4. Although TAS seems to be faster in many places, no actual time difference happens before 8-4 due to 21-frame rule of this game. TAS is NOT programming, NOT AI related.
