This short film is about Soviet Modernist Architecture in heart of Eurasia, the city of Almaty. It was based on the book “Alma-at: Soviet Modernist Architecture in Almaty 1955-1991”, ( published by Garage MCA, 2018). It shows how the buildings from the Soviet past construct the image of modern Almaty. The Green bazaar, Medeu mud flow control dum, Palace of students and pioneers and The Youth Theatre named after Natalya Sats are now the symbols of this city. Enjoy!
