Watercolor Landscape | “Morning Valley“ by Nina Volk | Painting Landscape with Mountains

F R E E Sample D E M O: My P A T R E O N page: Hi everyone! In this demonstration I am painting a landscape with early morning light shining through the valley and contrasting foggy mountains in the background. The main focus of this painting is on the light shining through the dramatic sky. In watercolor you paint light by painting shadows. That is the most fun part. I usually paint sky wet-on-wet (both sides) and washout highlights for the rays with a big synthetic flat brush. In this demonstration I am using: Paper: 300GSM 100% Cotton Saunders Waterford Rough Brushes: • 20mm flat synthetic, • ¾ inch Black Velvet Oval • 10mm Dainayw Squirrel Mop #5 • 8mm Dainayw Squirrel Mot #3 • #12 Perla • #1 Black Velvet Script Paints: Winsor Newton, Daniel Smith and Holbein Please enjoy!
