An enchanting ride …….from the land of magic carpets and genies to magical melodies of Indian classical ragas. The extremely popular 1992 Disney song “A Whole New World” from the American animated film Aladdin now has an IndianRaga twist! Indian classical elements have been added to the original song using improvisation and musical arrangement, with fillers and instrumental parts composed in classical Carnatic raga Behag.                                                                                                                             Alapana Bagirath and Arjun Ravi Shankar sing to the beat of Anirudh Sharma’s Tabla, as melodic notes of raga Behag, played on the Veena by KDB Madhavi, Flute by Vishnu Priyaa and Geoshred by Mahesh Raghvan, blend nostalgia into the simple sweet English lyrics.
