Chopin Allegro de concert, Op. 46

This woefully undervalued piece is one of my favourite Chopin compositions and this recording by Arrau from 1956 I think is one of his best recordings. Arrau’s Chopin is not for everybody; he always had a unique way of playing, which in Chopin could be accused of as being awkward, oversentimental, mannered and heavy-handed. Here, however, such accusations would be completely unwarranted as he overcomes the tremendous technical difficulties of this piece with barely a slip-up. I daresay it almost sounds as
