At that time Ryazan was called Pereyaslavl-Ryazan. In the 11th century, the Kremlin was a fortified wooden fortress, around which settlements of peasants and artisans were located. In the 16th century, the first stone tower was built - Glebovskaya. In total, the construction of the complex continued until the 19th century. On the territory of the Kremlin there is a historical and architectural museum-reserve, which is considered one of the oldest museums in Russia. It was founded in 1884. In total, the Kremlin ensemble includes 18 monuments of history and culture of the 11-19th centuries.
