Elton John - Tartan Coloured Lady (1968) With Lyrics!

A 1968 recording of an early song by Elton John & Bernie Taupin, intended for the unreleased album “Regimental Sgt. Zippo.“ 12 early songs by Elton John, mostly with lyrics by Bernie Taupin, were recorded at Dick James Studio in 1968 and intended to become a trippy psychedelic rock album, along the lines of Procol Harum and The Beatles. But the album was never released. It was produced by Caleb Quaye. Update June 2021: The album has now been officially released on vinyl only as a “Record Store Day“ exclusive. And the sound quality of the official release is brilliantly better than these bootleg versions I’ve shared on YouTube. If you have the opportunity, go get a copy of the officially release. It’s amazing! The 12 tracks were: 1. When I Was Tealby Abbey 2. And the Clock Goes Round 3. Sitting Doing Nothing 4. Turn to Me 5. Angel Tree 6. Regimental Sgt. Zippo 7. A Dandelion Dies in the Wind 8. You’ll Be Sorry to See Me Go 9. You’re My Woman (Nina) 10. Tartan Coloured Lady 11. Hourglass 12. Watching the Planes Go By
