Evolution of the Ego

Look at human beings 100,000 years ago and look at human beings today. What is the difference? The difference is that people 100,000 years ago were closer to the lower levels of nature. They had less ego. Today every human being in the 21st century, everyone is individualistic and have their own worldview and opinions and so forth. That is natural development. That is something that we need to recognize as human beings. This growth of egoism drives behind the scenes all of the social polarization we see, all of the animosity we see, all of the conflict we see and ultimately wars and violence.
