Introduction to cuts according to German System (Learn to cut | Part 1)
If you train sword fencing, I’m sure you practice cuts with many variations of swings at the beginning of each training session or at home.
Today I will make a short first introduction to the cut system according to the German style of the 14th-16th century. Many more videos on the subject will then build on this, explaining the various basic cuts, their variations, correct execution and typical mistakes. I will also give you exercises to train your cuts.
However, this first video serves as a basis.
*The content of my videos is based on the surviving German-language sources on fencing from the 14th-16th centuries in the German-speaking world and personal study/experience/research. | It is not intended to denigrate other traditions, styles, theories and cultural aspects.
