Neutrinovoltaic: How to generate electricity with neutrinos
How can neutrinos be used to generate electricity?
Similar to the generation of electricity by wind power, neutrinovoltaic transforms motion into energy. Analogous to wind, which is not “captured“ but whose kinetic energy is used to drive the rotors, neutrinos set an extremely dense surface into atomic oscillations through their impact. A special material amplifies the atomic vibrations caused by neutrinos into resonances on several layers. The difficulty now was to develop a material that is actually dense enough to slow down the path of the neutrinos and to be able to set them into micro-vibrations through perfect geometry.
International physicists and materials scientists from a wide range of universities in the Neutrino Energy Group led by CEO Holger Thorsten Schubart have succeeded in optimizing materials that meet these requirements.
