Protests In China LIVE | Protesters Hit The Streets Against China’s Zero COVID Policy | News18 Live Beijing, Shanghai, Urumqi, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Wuhan and at least a dozen other cities across China saw hundreds of people taking to the streets to protest against President Xi Jinping’s harsh zero-Covid policy that has allowed authorities to place millions of citizens under prolonged lockdowns even if just a handful of cases are reported. In Wuhan, thousands of protesters shouted: “It started in Wuhan, it will end in Wuhan“, as they smashed through metal barricades, overturned Covid testing tents and demanded an end to lockdowns.
