North Korea to Shut a Dozen Embassies Amid International Sanctions
North Korea is poised to close a dozen of its diplomatic missions including in Spain, Hong Kong, and other African countries. This will wipe out 25% of North Korea’s missions globally. South Korea says that this comes as the North is struggling to make money overseas because of international sanctions. North Korea faces multiple sanctions globally mainly due to its nuclear weapons program. In 2003, withdrew from the nuclear non-proliferation treaty fueling concerns across the globe.
