IBM 5150 PC with dual MDA & CGA monitor setup

In this video I’m going to show you how you can hookup 2 monitors to an IBM PC 5150, and what software can actually make good use if. My IBM has both a Monochrome Display Adapter or MDA, and a Color Graphics Adapter or CGA expansion card installed. Because these 2 cards don’t share memory addresses, they can be used simultaneously, and it was a common configuration to have both cards installed. I’ll go over Lotus 1-2-3 in a dual screen setup to show the worksheets on one display, and the graphs on another. I’ll also show you Borland Turbo Debugger 1.0, a machine-level MS-DOS executable debugger to step through your application code on one screen, and see the output on another. It’s pretty mind-boggling to see this old retro hardware perform in a dual monitor setup, and I highly recommend anyone with vintage hardware to try it out.
