Mary Had A Little Lamb (1930)

No title. M/S of a tame sheep walking along a street behind a butcher. Onlookers stand and watch. Butcher steps into his shop where lots of animal carcasses hang down. M/S of the butcher giving the sheep some cabbage to eat - the sheep stands on its hind legs. “This woolly resident of South London fears neither people nor traffic.“ The sheep is seen outside in the street eating from the hand of a woman in shorts. C/U of the sheep eating from her hand. M/S of same with people looking on and smiling at the camera. A little girl strokes the sheep. “And when its pal, Miss Piercey, the well-known runner, goes out on a jaunt, the lamb goes too!’ M/S of the two running along a street, the sheep has a small sign around its neck. They are seen from a moving vehicle. Miss Piercey then runs along with the sheep on a lead. Although the title of the film is “Mary Had a Little Lamb“ - it is quite a big sheep. A bit bizarre! Was an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 499.
