California’s newest Senator Laphonza Butler to be sworn in

California Gov. Gavin Newsom selected Laphonza Butler to fill the vacant U.S. Senate seat held by the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Butler is to be sworn in by vice President Kamala Harris, for whom she worked as an adviser.
