“TRAMP! TRAMP! TRAMP!“ 1864 Civil War Song Played On 1905 MIRA Concert Grand Music Box

Here is the beloved 1864 American Civil War song, “Tramp! Tramp! Tramp! (The Prisoner’s Hope)“ composed by George F. Root and played on one of our Mira 18 ½ inch Concert Grand console music boxes. This very spirited song was written primarily to encourage the Union Civil War prisoners that hope for them was coming and to not be discouraged. This song remains one of my all time favorites to play on the music box here as well as on the phonographs in my collection.
