Part of Dubai underwater! Record rainfall flooded the largest city in the Emirates!

This is one of the worst floods in the Emirates’ largest city in recent years. Rainfall was at a record high. More than 40 millimeters of rain fell. Authorities have issued a yellow-orange warning. Residents were advised to avoid beaches and stay home. Traffic and flights were affected due to the weather conditions. Residents have been posting videos on social media showing cars floating in the water. The first floors and basements of buildings were flooded. Flood damage could take months to repair. The expansion of the city has reduced the natural catchment area, causing water to spill into the streets.
