Gold goes a long way from the time it is extracted from ore to the moment it gets a certification mark. The process begins in special refineries. There, the precious metal is separated from the raw material through chemical and physical processing. Gold takes the form of an ingot after melting in a furnace, solidifying in special molds. However, the process does not end there. Samples of the alloy still need to be tested in the laboratory to obtain markings confirming the authenticity of ingots. Afterwards, each of them receives its own serial and certification numbers. The weight and fineness of gold are also indicated on the gold bar.
