Street Fighter 1 (Arcade) Thailand Stage 2: Ryu vs. Sagat + Ending

Sagat is the champion of the International Martial Arts Tournament. No one was ever capable of bringing him down, until Ryu showed up. Ryu represents the dragon, while Sagat represents the tiger. This is a strong idiom in Chinese culture where two powerful forces of nature collide to see who’s the strongest. Sagat, being the final boss, is a bit tougher here. He can read a lot of Ryu’s moves and block them before they hit him. He can even block his Hadoken. Sagat also wields his Tiger Shot and Tiger Knee in this game, but no Tiger Uppercut yet. His Tiger Shot is powerful enough to still hit Ryu even when he’s blocking. Overall, Sagat is kinda cheap in this game, but it’s not impossible to beat him, because I do, here. -------------- Some sources state that Ryu finished Sagat off in the tournament by hitting him with a Satsui no Hadou-powered Shoryuken . the Metsu Shoryuken, which is what gave Sagat his signature chest scar.
