Visit to Cruquius Pumping Station Heemstede Holland

I went back to this museum after lasting visiting 47 years ago. Since I was there it has been completely refurbished and put back into working order. Except of course that it was once a steam engine and it is now operated hydraulically. The amazing fact is that it is the largest steam piston engine in the world AND it was made in the UK in Cornwall by a company that used to make beam engines to pump out water from tin mines.
