Their repertoire, with many own compositions and a cover now and then, clearly indicates this is not a standard bluesband. The way Wildmen Bluesband give their music their own twist, shows great creativity of these five musicians. Just that one extra chord, minor note here, seventh note there, makes Wildmen Bluesband an absolutely unique band within the Dutch blues scene. During the performances of Wildmen Bluesband, the audience gets a musical spectacle that is unparalleled. With Saskia’s clear, flawless voice with a volume that amazes you, she guides her men and certainly the audience through a blistering blues afternoon and/or evening. Together with topguitarist Jos, she is the eye-catcher of the band. With on the other side keyboard magician Ruud and behind her ’Ginger Baker’ Rob on drums and ’masterpicker’ Mark on bass guitar, the band goes wild in no uncertain way. With unbridled energy and enthusiasm, the audience is torpedoed, as it were, with all kinds of musical and vocal blues forms. That is an art in itself and also the power that Wildmen Bluesband radiates on stage. Because make no mistake, it is not just 5 musicians making music.
