Benny Goodman Septet 1st concert, sunday 18 juli 1982 at the North Sea Jazz Festival, The Hague The Netherlands. Benjamin David (Benny) Goodman, with the nickname The King of Swing (Chicago, 30 mei 1909 - New York City, 13 juni 1986) was a well known American jazz clarinetist and bandleader. Goodman’s bands launched the careers of many major jazz artists. During an era of racial segregation, he led one of the first well-known integrated jazz groups. Benny Goodman Septet: 1.
