The beautiful old town of Bruges is an UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s easy to immediately fall in love with this cozy town. The old medieval center is dotted with old bridges over the canals. And the actual name Bruges is said to comes from the old Dutch word for bridge; Brugge. Among the most photographed views of Bruges is the Rozenhoedkaai canal with the belfry in the background, Bruges’ most famous landmark. During our visit the place was busy daytime but we where almost on our own late evening. Church of Our Lady is another medieval building. With its amazing spire it is the second highest brick tower in the world. Belgium is home to the Trappist beer which can be found in most restaurants and bars around town. With any luck you might be able to try out the Westvleteren 12 nominated multiple times as the world’s best beer. Since Belgium has three official languages, it’s all dependent on where you are in the country that is the dominant one.
