A Little A Long Way (1922)

“ ’S’no use,“ they told Jack Buchanan (“Battling Butler“) You’ll have to train... and here’s someone to help you.“ L/S of a boxer shadow boxing beside a punch ball. Jack Buchanan comes into shot wearing a shiny dressing gown and the boxer “accidentally“ hits him. He falls backwards and is caught by his dresser. His dresser tries to persuade him to spar with the boxer. They shake hands and lots of funny business ensues with Jack pretending that his hand has been crushed. The dresser tries to take Jack’s dressing gown off but each time a shoulder comes down, Jack puts it on again. The boxer meanwhile is hitting the punch ball. “It’s only our Joe“ they urged. “He won’t hurt you... not to speak about. Time!“ The boxer and Jack sit on chairs, the dresser plays referee. The boxer and Jack stand up and a fight ensues. Jack is pretty pathetic. C/U of Jack getting punched in the face. He gets a bit “punch drunk“. More slapstick stuff. Jack distracts the boxer’s attention by pointing at something
