Album: “Call it Confusion“ | | Lyrics:
The #blues is all inclusive, not exclusive, no matter what color, creed, rhyme or race x2
There’s only one race, the one we’ve already won, the HUMAN RACE!
I’m a midnight flyer from the West Coast to the East Coast x2
I’m on my way to another interview in D.C. with another anchor that really weighs in the most.
I’ve got some business to take care of, you’ll hear all about it. You know it’s true. x2
By proxy, I’m stepping in as your friend, considering Political Blues!
I’m not a democrat, I’m not a Republican, I’m just trying to be a Re-Love-Lakin! x2
Who’s really in charge of these things, it outta be you...
Maybe it’s a whistle blower singing Political Blues.

Written by: Johnny King & Tony TC Coleman
Fun Fact: King extracts lyrics from some talkin’ Blues when he & Tony Coleman did a show together in Clifton Forge, VA. Tony was speaking candidly during the show and on the spot coined the term “Re – love – lican” which was an immediate hit with the audience.
In 2019, Johnny King and Blues Legend Tony (TC) Coleman embarked on a musical endeavor to capture King’s catalog in its entirety. They discovered Skip Brown’s Final Tracks Studios in downtown Roanoke, Virginia, and started making musical history all over again! The Multi-Disk Project has grown to include five separate disks, spanning across five different genres!
Tony Coleman performed live for the first time ever in Clifton Forge, Virginia, on October 18, 2019, at the Historic Masonic Theatre. Tony lead the band on vocals and drums, playing blues standards and select songs from his latest album!
This show has been arranged as a result of Johnny and Tony’s friendship that has developed throughout the years. After phone calls they arranged to meet in Las Vegas, Nevada in August of 2010. Tony previously joined Johnny in his band for a farewell show at Freebird Live! in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. They also performed at the National Blues Museum in St. Louis, Missouri, as Johnny King and Friends in 2017.
Tony and Johnny were both mourning the loss of BB King, which opened up the hurt of one of their other favorite musicians, Buddy Miles, who played on Johnny King’s album Dance Around It. As a result, you heard some tributes to BB King and Buddy Miles. They share common musical tastes.
Tony and Johnny also began to finally record their original music together. They managed to record some tracks on a new album at Final Tracks Studios in Roanoke, Virginia in the days following the performance.
Incidentally, a new song later arose from the October 18, 2019 show that was created from Tony candidly speaking to the audience on stage. The song later became “Political Blues“ and included Grammy Award winner and fellow Blues Legend Bobby Rush on lead vocals and harmonica!
2019 was also the year Johnny established a new Blues Society in the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia
