JNU protest: Students clash with cops, remove barricades; water cannons used

Students of Jawaharlal Nehru University held massive protests in the national capital over issuance of a new hostel manual. The students allege that the new rules mandate a massive hike in hostel fees, as well as other provisions like a curfew time of 11:30 pm and ’appropriate dress code’. Protests were also held outside the All India Council for Technical Education facility in New Delhi, the venue of JNU’s third annual convocation.
