“I feel that the atmosphere in Japan has become extremely delicate and complicated,” says Japanese director Yusuke Ishida. “I did imagine that the world and our current situation might get worse, but I also imagined that the energy and emotions of the youth would not change, even in such a situation, and so I came up with the idea of making a documentary of young people living in a parallel future day.” new documents follows a group of friends in Tokyo as they navigate a new normal — a puzzling and delicate atmosphere wrought by a sense of fear and uncertainty.
