A dark, grungy song about religious and spiritual abuse by religious leaders, their pervasive rhetoric, and exploitation of vulnerable people who look to them for guidance. Hatori’s own religious background led her through a time in a cult-like program that triggered a long time of reflection on the intricate socio-emotional balances of power, deceit, money, manipulation, and gaslighting in many religious circles.
