Timmy Thomas ft Martin L King & Marvin Gaye ~ Why Can’t We Live Together (Difficult Days Ahead)

I went to Ed Gordon who runs the Kings Of Spins website about a project I was working on for Martin Luther King using Timmy Thomas’s “Why Can’t We Live Together“ and using quotes from MLK, JFK and RFK to underline the gravity and the fight for peace at home. During the remix, I approached him for his opinion and he suggested things to me for inclusion and helped me complete the remix. He had the idea to include some Marvin and then suggested I add some reverb and echo to his vocal to give it a sombre and vaguely threatening feel to underline the message of the song. These days, it seems that not everyone is respecting to the words you once told us, about peaceful and strong protests to fight the dark forces that drive us apart. People in position of power are abusing that office and are supported by a political party that just wants more control and power.
