Linda Mañana: A Musical Biography of Ondatropica

The foundation of the project was laid in a three week recording session at the legendary Discos Fuentes in Medellin, Colombia. It was there that over 40 musicians came together to revisit, revive and celebrate tropical music of the country. An ‘Onda’ is a soundwave, a charge of sonic energy projected out into the atmosphere. Musical explosions like Ondatropica don’t come out of nowhere, each participant of Ondatropica has their own history and experience contributing to the whole. This mix celebrates the music of the individuals that make up the Ondatropica collective and the diversity of Latin America’s tropical music scene.
