SHOCKING THE WEST! CHINA’S BEIDOU SATELLITE NAVIGATION SYSTEM EXPANDS GLOBALLY, WORTH $742 BILLION.

Last month in Vientiane, Laos, China Microchip BeiDou Co., Ltd. signed a significant cooperation agreement with the Lao Ministry of Technology and Communications for a BeiDou application project. This $40 million investment marks China’s first large-scale overseas application of the BeiDou system. BeiDou Microchip will collaborate with Lao authorities to leverage the precise positioning and quick response capabilities of the BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, implementing phases to establish a national satellite application management and service center in Laos. This center will fill gaps in communication, navigation, and remote sensing satellite applications. China has made significant strides in satellite navigation, signing agreements with the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and the UAE, and collaborating with Russia and South Africa. The International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) has officially recognized the time service based on China’s BeiDou system, allowing it to provide precise global standard time services. The International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) standards now include the BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, making it a global navigation system for civil aviation. BeiDou serves users in over 200 countries, with 44 satellites in orbit. The “2024 China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Service Industry Development White Paper“ shows a % increase in the total output value of China’s satellite navigation and positioning service industry in 2023. BeiDou’s applications span various sectors, including transportation, agriculture, and public security, with over 25 million terminal devices in use. The system is integrated into consumer products like smartphones, with major manufacturers supporting BeiDou. High-precision navigation based on BeiDou has been widely implemented, enhancing driving safety and traffic efficiency. By the end of 2023, the total number of terminal products with BeiDou positioning functions surpassed 1.4 billion units. The BeiDou system is recognized by several international organizations, and its products, technologies, and services have gained broader international acceptance. In 2023, BeiDou achieved significant breakthroughs in application innovation, creating new business modes and automated production operations. As BeiDou continues to expand its global reach, it aims to establish a comprehensive national spatiotemporal system by 2035, providing reliable and convenient positioning, navigation, and timing services. #BeiDouSystem #ChinaSatelliteNavigation #GlobalPositioning #HighPrecisionNavigation #InternationalCooperation
