Ferank Manseed Hand Tattooing SPF’s Lyndsey 15 Jan 2011

Spare Part Films’ Lyndsey Richardson gets a Ferank Manseed exclusive! A gorgeous hand-done tattoo (no machine!) designed by the legendary Ferank himself. This was filmed on the 15th Jan 2011 at Northside Tattooz Newcastle branch in the basement of Clarendon House - next to Pink Lane and opposite Newcastle Cathedral. The design is a Hunab Ku, an old mystical symbol representing the Mayan supreme deity and heavily influenced by the invading Christians’ beliefs back in Columbus’ time. Amazing result too. 24 hours later and there’s no scab and no owies! Overall, the hand tattooing method is less traumatic to the skin than a gun and causes less discomfort in general. Highly recommended by all who’ve experienced it. Obviously, it takes longer than a ’normal’ tattoo - seven hours for this one - but well worth it. Respect to Ferank and the team at Northside!
