Who benefits from natural resources in indigenous lands? | Elisa Morgera | TEDxUniversityofGlasgow

Elisa collaborates with the United Nations and with communities and NGOs in different regions of the world to protect the ​human rights of indigenous peoples and the environment. She uses her skills as a global environmental lawyer to support policies and practices that prevent the discrimination and exploitation of indigenous peoples in the context of natural resource development. Elisa’s work aims at encouraging decisions about the environment that value different cultures and views. This talk is based on the project “BENELEX: Benefit-sharing for an equitable transition to the green economy - the role of law,” funded by the European Research Council Starting Grant (November 2013-October 2018) - Grant Number: 335592 (University of Strathclyde Law School/ Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance).
