another crossbow trigger

This trigger uses a combination of lever and cam action. If you think of the pendulum of a grandfather clock, you can kind of get the idea. If the pendulum is started very near the bottom of its swing, gravity will have a small torque on the pendulum’s center of rotation causing it to move. Start the pendulum too near the bottom of the swing path and the pendulum won’t move because of friction. Substitute string hook torque for gravity and you have the essence of this design. As long as the angle between sear and string hook is large enough it will overcome friction but still result in a light trigger pull.
