This is another studio piece I directed for “Here & Now“ circa 1988. Nahid Siddiqui is one of the world’s great exponents of Kathak Dance and I wanted to shoot this in an unconventional way to highlight the complexities and techniques of this beautiful form of Indian classical dance. I decided on one continuous shot with no cuts ... and to keep the camera moving throughout to maintain a fluidity and continuity to the piece.
