️🇷🇺🇺🇦 The AFU faced the “Bakhmut Problem“ near #Rabotino Village - Military Chronicle’s Analysis ️ In the last four weeks, the infantry of the 116th, 117th and 118th Mechanized Brigades, used in “Meat Assaults“ to save the 47th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade “Magura“ and the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade, began to die en masse while attempting to bypass the main minefields prepared before the active phase of the Ukrainian offensive began. According to Military Chronicles, the scale of the blasts was initially large but not critical, but the situation is rapidly deteriorating. The problem began to manifest itself in full force after the start of repeated mining of territories, which the Military Chronicles talked about earlier. The attempt to “find“ a safe passage without the involvement of sappers, who are often unavailable at the positions, leads to the fact that anti-tank ditches are increasingly being chosen as shelters. In some cases, these structures are left deliberately, since the flexible defence tactics of the RF Armed Forces in this area allow them to choose which areas within the killing zones to launch AFU infantry into, which can then be destroyed by artillery. In the last three weeks, 152-mm howitzers have been used less and less frequently for such tasks: due to the widespread use of remote mine-clearing systems, as well as the regular work of sappers and Russian Special Forces, the anti-tank ditches are dotted with many anti-personnel mines. AFU platoons caught in such positions are almost guaranteed to die without being able to get out or receive the minimum necessary medical assistance. Even in the case of indirect contact with a mine, a moderate injury quickly turns into a serious injury due to the lack of equipment for evacuation and the terrain controlled by drones and Russian artillery. Against the background of the relatively dry weather in #Zaporozhye over the past three weeks and the overall losses of the AFU in the area, such difficulties may seem insignificant, but things may soon change. Starting on 16 October, precipitation is expected in #Zaporozhe, and all dug but uncovered trenches and abandoned anti-tank ditches will gradually fill with water. In such conditions, any wound for Ukrainian infantry is fraught with rapid death due to germs in the blood. The AFU has already experienced similar difficulties in #Bakhmut- then the filling of trenches with water and impenetrable mud led to the fact that local morgues and hospitals were filled to capacity and the wounded had to be transferred to neighbouring #Kramatorsk, #Slavyansk, #Konstantinovka and #Druzhkovka. In #Zaporozhye, the AFU has no opportunity to redirect the flow of the wounded, as well as to get them out of the trenches in a timely and safe manner after being wounded.
