With the Release of Dune - Part Two, I wanted to give Hans Zimmer’s Oscar winning Soundtrack of the first Part (Paul’s dream) a try on my piano. The atmospheric, otherworldly soundscape of the original meant, I had to experiment a lot with different techniques inside the Piano, and the Keys almost play a marginal role in this one. Using the copper windings of the bass strings was very helpful in creating the sandstorm effects that play a big role in the original.
Finally, to make the experience a bit more accessible, I tried out Call-Out Animations to give a bit of context and explain how I achieved the different layers of Sound. Let me know what you think!
