It is fast ;because you don’t have to cut the wool into small pieces and install them one by one. It uses less thread as you don’t have to cut pieces of thread/wool long enough to install comfortably. It also gives the mat a neat and finished look since you are able to control the length of the threads and don’t need to cut or trim them later on *unless necessary *. ******** I got feedback that after washing the thread starts falling off. I haven’t experienced that. But I’d recommend you soak it in soap for sometime then rinse it in clean water. I don’t recommend washing using a brush. Wash it gently like any other shaggy rug😊 Also that the threads can be easily pulled out. Make the threads to be a reasonable length that can’t be pulled out so
