In August of 2021, Summoning the Lich, The Behest of Serpents, The Breathing Process, Carrion Vael and Terranoct all played a show in Canton, Ohio. The show was such an incredible experience, afterward there was a discussion about doing a collaboration on a song with each other. We all were fans of The Black Dahlia Murder, and decided on covering “A Shrine to Madness”. We were almost completely done recording when we learned of the untimely passing of their beloved frontman Trevor Scott Strnad. And would couldn’t think of a more fitting tribute than to release this song on Halloween and dedicate it to the man and the band that had such a huge impact on all of our musical lives.
