In this video, taken from a TV special made on occasion of her 50th birthday, she and the Pim Jacobs Trio perform three of her early hits: Too Close For Comfort, Desafinado and Can’t Buy Me Love (The Beatles). At the start Rita and her friend TV host Hans van Willigenburg discuss the award Rita and the trio won at the 1960 Antibes / Juan Les Pins jazz festival, after which Rita became widely known as Europe’s First Lady of Jazz.
