Police in Paris pelted with paint as pension reform protests flare
Police holding riot shields were pelted with paint and other objects as the eleventh day of nationwide protests against a pension reform bill turned violent.
Protesters set fires with bikes, garbage bins and wooden sticks, and even the awning of a restaurant known to be President Emmanuel Macron’s favourite.
As anger boils over the bill that intends to raise the retirement age by two years, the Constitutional Council will deliver its verdict on April 14.
