The Jubalaires - Noah (Rare Performance in 4K) 1946
1940’s / 1950’s American Gospel group The Jubalaires performing “Noah“, newly remastered. In a rare performance, seen here is The Jubalaires 1940s era consisting of John Jennings, Orville Brooks, George McFadden and Ted Brooks. The video footage captured of “Noah“ was originally a “soundie“ sourced from the Prelinger Archive.
Soundies were early forms of modern music videos. Created before television was widespread, soundies played on small screens run from 16mm film projectors - almost like a video jukebox featuring some of the top artists of the day.
The 1940s and 1950s vocal quartet The Jubalaires were thankfully captured in this 1946 soundie performing “Noah“, newly restored in HD with slight AI interpretation and audio enhancements applied. Please let us know what you think in the comments below?
The Jubalaires Noah Lyrics:
Well it’s oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah
God’s gonna ride on the wind & tide
Well it’s Oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah
God’s gonna ride on the wind & tide
Brother Noah
My God’s talking
Said he would ride
On the wind & tide
(Group in background) - God’s gonna ride on the wind & tide.
Hey you brother, stop still, and listen to me
God walked down to the abandoned sea
He declared that evil was the sin to man
And then He decided to destroy the land
He spoke to Noah and Noah stopped
He said “Noah, I want you to build me an ark“
I want you to build it 3 cubits long
I want you to build it big and strong
I want it 30 high and 50 wide
So it will withstand the wind and tide
Well it’s oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah
God’s gonna ride on the wind & tide
Well it’s Oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah
God’s gonna ride on the wind & tide
(Humming)
Brother Noah
Brother Noah,
My God’s talking
Said he would ride
On the wind and tide
Well after the foundation was laid
And Then Noah began to hew and build
The ringing of the hammer that cried judgement
The hewing of the saw that sang repent
Hundred years he hammered and sawed
Building the ark by the grace of God
And When the ark was done God’s voice was heard
Said “Now, Noah let me tell you what to do
Call in the animals two by two“
So he called them in the ark two by two
He called the birdies, the oxford, the kangaroo
Then he called in japheth, Ham, and Shem
Then God began to flood the land
He raised His hands to heaven on high
Shook the stars and moved from the sky
Shook the mountains, He trebled the sea
Hits the wind, to His chariots wheels
He stepped on land and stood on the shore
And declared that time there wouldn’t be no more
Well it’s oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah
God’s gonna ride on the wind & tide
