“Labour Don’t Want To Stop Mass Immigration“ | Kevin O’Sullivan Takes Viewers’ Calls

Former Labour MP Dame Margaret Hodge, has slammed the party for being “too frightened” to tackle the issue of immigration following recent riots. Hodge, who retired after 30 years as an MP, warned that Labour risks losing touch with voters if it continues to dodge the subject. She called on the party to shape a new, positive narrative around immigration, highlighting the “richness” that foreign nationals bring to the UK. However, Hodge stressed the importance of showing that Britain can control its borders and urged Labour to address voters’ frustrations over immigration levels. The former Barking MP also pushed for tougher action, urging Labour to show leadership by deporting illegal asylum seekers “as quickly as you can.” Kevin O’Sullivan takes calls from Martin in Cambridge and Cristina in Belfast.
