VOM Instructors’ Concert 2011 The Headless Gariess IS Nic Gariess:) OR Nearly Headless Nic The fleet-footed Nic Gareiss, a Michigan-born percussive dancer with the band This Is How We Fly, performs a solo at The Irish Arts Center NYC, April 24, 2015. I believe he called this flat-footing, an old Appalachian form. But Nic is a great improvisor, blending steps & styles from different traditions and his own imagination. Nic holds an MA in ethnochoreology from University of Limerick.
