Venezuela: Huge power outage leaves majority of country in the dark

At least 18 of 23 Venezuelan states were affected by a blackout that authorities blamed on anti-government saboteurs from the United States. The impact was felt in Sabana Grande and Plaza Venezuela, two neighborhoods in the centre Caracas, where traffic lights had stopped working causing chaos for drivers. Commuters in the capital were also forced to walk home after the metro service was hit by the power cut.
